Eyeshadow Primer and Why it is Important

Hola chicas,

You may have heard makeup artists or your skilled makeup friends talk about eyeshadow primers and wondered what in heck are is she/he talking about. Or, you may be baffled on why your eyshadow do not last or why you keep seeing creasing on your eyelids. That is because you are not using an eyeshadow base!

What are they? They are different from face primers.  Eyeshadow primers doubles as a sticky base for your eyeshadow to stick to. A sticky base allows for the shadow to not only to stick to your lid, but it provides for a brighter and a vibrant appearance and it allows the shadow to last most of the day. At least it will last until you decide to wash it off.

What if I have oily lids? If you have oily lids, then eyeshadow primer would be an absolute option for you! Eyeshadow primer would prevent your eyeshadow from creasing. I too suffer from oily lids.  Personally, what I like to do is first apply my eyeshadow primer, then I apply a concealer and on top of that, I apply an eyeshadow base (I use Groundwork from MAC). Why do I go through this method? I work 8-12 hours a day and I am constantly busy and do not have the time to stop and re-touch my makeup. This method provides all day stay for my eye makeup.

You can apply your primer with you finger or a brush. I like to use MAC's 257 or you can use any random brush to get the job done.  You want to make sure you apply from your eyelid all the way up to your brown bone.

I hope this helps!

I'm Back...Well, I am Coming Back

Hi Beauties!!!

I missed you all. I hope all is well with everyone. So much has gone on in my personal life. I had to take the time to pamper me and get me right. Whew! I am still a work in progress, but I am in a much better place than I was a year ago...I tell you that! I am a mom of 3 boys now.  Yeah, so, I had another son since the last time I posted. He was born on November 27th.  They are 6, 3 (almost 4) and 17 months. I love those boogers to death! They are the best.

I still want to keep the scope of this blog about fashion, but I do want to talk about my first love which is makeup and I plan to do a lot of reviews. I have been into skincare lately and I have tried so many products out and I want to be able to give you my reviews (or you share yours) before others buy them.

Anyhoo! Thanks for your support. 2012 I am going to get my blessings!!!!!

Aimee Michael to serve 36 years for fatal Easter Day crash ajc.com

This story is so sad on so many levels. So many lives lost. If only she would have stayed at the scene, instead she has 36 years for something so selfish.

To My Visitors: The Issue with Following

I have received several messages from visitors offering a swap follow. What I mean is they will offer to follow me "if" I follow them. I personaly think that is high schoolish. Follow me because you like my content and you like what I offer, don't follow me in hopes that I will follow you to make you popular. That lets me know that you are not into blogging for the love of it; you simply want to be popular.

I would love to have more followers, but I want them to follow me because they chose to not because I solicited them.

Thanks!

Only Lady Gaga

I personally think Lady Gaga fashion sense is hideous, but I love her ability to portray confidence while wearing her ensembles.

Here Lady Gaga shows off her latest bag - and heel-free platforms! - in London on May 30, 2010.

Only she can do this!

A message for New Moms

Heidi Klum did an interview with InStyle Magazine recently and here's what she had to say:

In honor of Mother's Day this Sunday, supermodel (and supermom) Heidi Klum shared some words of wisdom for new moms in a new video—including advice from her own mother! "My mom gave me lots of advice. The biggest is to always have fun," the mother of four said. "Just have a great time with it. It's such an amazing experience." When it came to her personal experiences with new motherhood, the German beauty got lucky. "All my pregnancies were easy—I didn't have too many cravings or weight issues," she said.
