Eyeshadow Primer and Why it is Important

Hola chicas,

You may have heard makeup artists or your skilled makeup friends talk about eyeshadow primers and wondered what in heck are is she/he talking about. Or, you may be baffled on why your eyshadow do not last or why you keep seeing creasing on your eyelids. That is because you are not using an eyeshadow base!

What are they? They are different from face primers.  Eyeshadow primers doubles as a sticky base for your eyeshadow to stick to. A sticky base allows for the shadow to not only to stick to your lid, but it provides for a brighter and a vibrant appearance and it allows the shadow to last most of the day. At least it will last until you decide to wash it off.

What if I have oily lids? If you have oily lids, then eyeshadow primer would be an absolute option for you! Eyeshadow primer would prevent your eyeshadow from creasing. I too suffer from oily lids.  Personally, what I like to do is first apply my eyeshadow primer, then I apply a concealer and on top of that, I apply an eyeshadow base (I use Groundwork from MAC). Why do I go through this method? I work 8-12 hours a day and I am constantly busy and do not have the time to stop and re-touch my makeup. This method provides all day stay for my eye makeup.

You can apply your primer with you finger or a brush. I like to use MAC's 257 or you can use any random brush to get the job done.  You want to make sure you apply from your eyelid all the way up to your brown bone.

I hope this helps!
